This year I have really gotten more serious about collecting and listening to vinyl records. The connection to the music seems greater when you follow the steps of slide the vinyl out of the sleeve, brush dust off of the surface, set the stylus, and then later flip to the next side. Even the ritual of the process is engaging.
I have a rather humble setup consisting of a Music Hall MMF-2 turntable, a Marantz 2-channel integrated amplifier, and a set old Advent loudspeakers from the mid ’70s. It’s enough of a hi-fi setup for the room it is in, which has one entire wall of windows, and hence is far from the perfect audiophile space.
At this point, my collection numbers somewhere between 200 and 300 albums in various conditions from brand new to marginal. No real rarities that I know of, but some are interesting.Here are some thumbnails that I took of the stack that had been played most recently. This weekend I will post the rest of them.
